NTA Racing to Finalize NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Results by July 20; Double-Track Counseling Framework Ready

NEW DELHI — Following the successful re-examination conducted on June 21, 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the final revised scorecards for NEET UG 2026 are on track to be declared by July 20, 2026. Officials report that evaluation is proceeding on a "war footing" as a specialized committee reviews nearly 10,000 objections raised by candidates against the provisional answer key before finalizing the ranks.

The NTA has firmly assured medical aspirants that the standard MBBS academic calendar will face no delays, paving the way for immediate admission protocols.

Centralized Seats: MCC All India Quota (AIQ)

Immediately after the results are synchronized, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will open registration at mcc.nic.in to govern the centralized 15% All India Quota (AIQ) pools.

  • Scope of Allotment: The MCC rounds will handle 100% of the seat allocations across premier national institutions, including all AIIMS campuses, JIPMER, Central Universities (such as BHU and AMU), and Deemed Universities.

  • Process Dynamics: The automated seat allocation logic is merit-driven, heavily factoring in the candidate's All India Rank (AIR), category reservations (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS, and PwD), and the precise hierarchical order of locked college preferences.

State Seats: Independent 85% Portals Running Parallelly

Concurrently, individual state counseling authorities are rolling out separate, regional schedules to manage the remaining 85% State Quota seats in government colleges alongside 100% of private institutional seats within state borders.

  • Distinct Ecosystems: Candidates must monitor their home states' independent administrative portals (such as KEA for Karnataka or the Selection Committee for Tamil Nadu) to register for state-specific domicile seats.

  • Parallel Participation: Medical experts strongly urge eligible students to actively participate in both the MCC AIQ tracks and their respective state quota counseling arrays simultaneously to maximize their probability of securing a placement.

Essential Prerequisite Checklist

Because reporting windows for Round 1 seat confirmations are traditionally highly condensed, advisors are stressing that students organize their verified document portfolios immediately. The mandatory physical and digital verification dossier must include:

  • NEET UG 2026 Official Admit Card and NTA Scorecard/Rank Letter

  • Class 10 and Class 12 Certificates and Marksheets (verifying exact DOB and core PCBE subject marks)

  • Valid, government-issued Photo Identification (Aadhaar Card, Passport, etc.)

  • Competent authority-issued Category, PwD, or State Domicile Certificates (where applicable)
