NTA Issues Advisory for CUET PG 2026; Applications Close on January 14

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important advisory for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate programmes (CUET PG) 2026. The agency has announced that the application process will close on January 14, 2026, and candidates must complete their registration before the deadline.

NTA has advised all applicants to ensure that they complete the following steps:

  • Fill and submit the online application form.

  • Pay the prescribed examination fee.

  • Download and retain the confirmation page for future reference.

The agency clarified that only those candidates who have successfully paid the application fee will be considered as having completed the application process. It also warned candidates to verify all details carefully before making the payment, as no corrections will be allowed after fee submission.

Earlier, NTA reduced the number of examination cities for CUET PG 2026. The total number of cities has been brought down from 312 to 292. The exam will now be conducted in 272 cities across India and 16 cities abroad.

Despite the changes in exam cities, there are no changes in the exam pattern or number of subjects. CUET PG 2026 will be conducted for 157 subjects, with each paper having a duration of 90 minutes.

The CUET PG 2026 examination is scheduled to be held in March 2026. Candidates who qualify will be eligible for admission to postgraduate programmes in Central, State, Private, Deemed Universities, and other participating institutions for the 2026–27 academic session.
