NEET PG 2026 Registration Begins: Official Dates, Major Allocation Overhaul, and Key Guidelines Issued

Major Changes: No More "First-Come, First-Served" Allotment

In a major structural shift to streamline exam logistics and boost transparency, NBEMS has officially eliminated the traditional first-come, first-served mechanism for center allocation. Submitting an application early will no longer give candidates a preference or advantage in securing a specific testing location.

  • Test State Selection: Candidates must now select three preferred test states rather than specific cities.

  • Location Criteria: The first preferred state must strictly match the correspondence address provided in the application form, while the remaining two choices must be neighboring states.

  • Final Discretion: NBEMS will make every effort to allocate centers based on state preferences but retains the right to assign a center anywhere across India due to logistical or security demands.

Mandatory Image & Document Compliance

The board has issued a strict advisory regarding document uploads to prevent application rejections or withheld admit cards.

  • Photographs: Must be captured within the last three months and match specific dimensions. Applications with morphed, unclear, or non-compliant images will face immediate disqualification.

  • Identification: Real-time Aadhaar authentication and biometric verifications are standard protocols for security at the exam gates.

Eligibility Criteria & Application Fees

Candidates must hold a recognized MBBS degree or Provisional Pass Certificate and possess a permanent or provisional registration certificate issued by the NMC or State Medical Council. Furthermore, candidates must complete their one-year compulsory rotatory internship on or before September 30, 2026.

  • General / OBC / EWS Category: ₹3,500

  • SC / ST / PwBD Category: ₹2,500

The fee must be remitted via the integrated online payment gateway using credit cards, debit cards, or net banking facilities.

How to Apply: Eligible candidates can visit the official portal at natboard.edu.in, generate a user ID and password via the registration link, log in to complete the data entries, upload necessary attachments, and finalize their submission by completing the fee payment.
