NEET UG Update: Re-Test Evaluation Underway on 'War Footing'; Results by July 20

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has accelerated its evaluation cycle for the NEET UG 2026 re-test to prevent any delays to the upcoming medical academic calendar. Following the cancellation of the original May 3 examination over paper leak allegations, the re-test was successfully conducted on June 21 for over 22.79 lakh candidates nationwide.

Senior NTA officials have confirmed that the final results are on track to be declared by July 20, 2026. This marks an exceptionally fast turnaround of under 30 days, cutting down the standard 45-day evaluation window significantly.

⏱️ Critical Timeline for Aspirants

OMR Sheets (Expected July 6–10): Scanned individual OMR response sheets and recorded responses are expected to drop on the official portal this week. Candidates will have a tight 72-hour window to download their sheets and log any discrepancies.
Objection Clearance: A specialized panel of subject matter experts is currently validating roughly 10,000 candidate objections raised against the June 25 provisional answer key to lock down the final binding key.
Counselling Framework: The NTA has assured students that the MBBS academic session will not face delays. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to open online registrations for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) shortly after the July 20 results, with respective state-quota counselling sessions following immediately.
