UGC NET June 2026 Subject-Wise Schedule Out: Check Complete Timetable, Shifts, and Key Dates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the detailed subject-wise examination schedule for the UGC NET June 2026 session. As previously announced, the national-level eligibility test will be conducted entirely in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode spanning across five examination days from June 22 to June 30, 2026.

This cycle sees the total number of subjects expand to 87 with the addition of two new disciplines: Forestry and Statistics.

⏰ Daily Exam Shifts and Timings

The CBT exam will be held in two separate daily shifts. There is no negative marking, and candidates will get 180 minutes (3 hours) to complete both Paper 1 (50 MCQs) and Paper 2 (100 MCQs) combined.

  • Shift 1: 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

  • Shift 2: 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM

  • Shift I (9 AM - 12 PM): Geography, Visual Art, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Museology & Conservation, Labour Welfare/Personnel Management.

  • Shift II (3 PM - 6 PM): Computer Science and Applications, Home Science, Bengali, Music, Persian, Russian, Population Studies.

Day 2: June 23, 2026
Tuesday
  • Shift I (9 AM - 12 PM): Education, Public Administration, Social Work, Urdu, Malayalam, Criminology, Performing Art, Tribal and Regional Language, Folk Literature.

  • Shift II (3 PM - 6 PM): Law, Mass Communication and Journalism, Electronic Science, Women Studies, Telugu, Forensic Science, Nepali, Library and Information Science, Philosophy.

Day 3: June 24, 2026
Wednesday
  • Shift I (9 AM - 12 PM): Political Science, Comparative Study of Religions, Japanese, Dogri, Rajasthani, Linguistics.

  • Shift II (3 PM - 6 PM): Commerce, Defence and Strategic Studies, Indian Culture, Buddhist, Jaina, Gandhian and Peace Studies.

Day 4: June 25, 2026
Thursday
  • Shift I (9 AM - 12 PM): English, Chinese, Konkani, Spanish, Kashmiri.

  • Shift II (3 PM - 6 PM): History, Pali, Prakrit, Comparative Literature.

Day 5: June 29, 2026
Monday
  • Shift I (9 AM - 12 PM): Hindi, Management, Arab Culture and Islamic Studies, Indian Knowledge Systems, Manipuri, Kannada, German, Sindhi, French.

  • Shift II (3 PM - 6 PM): Psychology, Physical Education, Management, Maithili, Arabic, Sanskrit Traditional Subjects, Ayurveda Biology, Disaster Management.

Day 6: June 30, 2026
Tuesday
  • Shift I (9 AM - 12 PM): Economics, Environmental Sciences, Sanskrit, Anthropology, Hindu Studies, Bodo, Gujarati, Politics including International Relations, Human Rights and Duties.

  • Shift II (3 PM - 6 PM): Sociology, Yoga, Tourism Administration and Management, Statistics (New), Forestry (New), Assamese, Adult Education, Archaeology, Oriya, Social Medicine & Community Health.

📝 Steps to Download City Slip & Admit Card

Once activated by the NTA, candidates can access their dashboard using these steps:

  1. Go to the official portal: ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

  2. Click on the link for "UGC NET June 2026 City Intimation" or "Admit Card".

  3. Enter the Application Number and Date of Birth (DoB).

  4. Download the document and check for shift timing, reporting hours, and exact center address.

Portal Advisory: Advise your students that the City Intimation Slip is not the final admit card. It is only released early to help outstation students make travel arrangements to their respective exam cities.
