NEET-UG 2026 Re-Exam City Slips Out: NTA Enforces Extreme Isolation for Paper Setters Ahead of June 21 Retest

In an unprecedented move to restore sanctity and complete transparency to the medical entrance process, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has rolled out a multi-layered security blueprint for the upcoming NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.

With the advance exam city intimation slips now officially live on the portal (neet.nta.nic.in), the government is implementing some of the most stringent administrative protocols in the history of national competitive testing.

📍 NEET-UG 2026 Re-Exam: Key Schedule & Telangana Turnout

The National Testing Agency has officially made the advance city intimation slips available for download. Candidates must note that this document is not the final admit card, but an early release to help students map out travel and logistics.

  • Exam Date & Time: Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM in offline (Pen-and-Paper) mode.

  • Massive Footprint in Telangana: State administrative briefings confirm that over 73,000 candidates are registered to take the re-test in Telangana alone.

  • Infrastructure: The state has set up 208 examination centres spread across 24 key cities to handle the massive volume of students smoothly.

🔒 Fort-Like Security: Question Paper Setters Under "Total Lockdown"

Following intense scrutiny and a CBI probe over earlier paper-leak allegations from the May 3 test cycle, the NTA and the Ministry of Education are leaving zero room for error.

1. Digital Isolation and Secret Locations

The experts, translators, and moderators responsible for finalizing the June 21 question bank have been placed under an aggressive, absolute quarantine.

  • They are currently housed at an undisclosed, highly secure location.

  • They have no personal communication devices, no mobile phones, and no internet access.

  • This complete digital isolation will remain tightly enforced until the final bell rings on exam day.

2. Blind Test-Drafting Strategy

To prevent insider collusion, a novel blind-drafting approach is being actively reviewed by top officials. Under this proposed mechanism, subject experts are assigned to draft rigorous, high-level question banks without being officially informed which specific national exam the questions are intended for.

3. IAF Engaged for Logistics & Multi-Layer AI Screening

  • Air Force Transport: For the first time in NTA's history, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been roped in to securely transport question papers directly to distribution hubs to eliminate leaks during transit.

  • Biometrics and Live Streams: At the ground level, centers will utilize multi-layer screening including mandatory facial recognition, biometric attendance verification, and live HD CCTV feeds linked directly to the NTA control center in Delhi.

  • Cyber Patrol: NTA's cyber units are monitoring message boards and social media platforms around the clock to instantly flag and take down fake leaked paper claims or malicious rumors.
