NEET UG 2026: NTA Opens Registration Portal; Exam Confirmed for May 3

New Delhi | February 8, 2026 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially kicked off the application process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026. Starting today, medical aspirants across the country can register for the nation’s largest entrance exam, which serves as the gateway to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and veterinary courses.

The NTA has provided a month-long window for students to complete their applications. Aspirants are advised to register early to avoid potential server issues in the final week.

💻 How to Apply

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official NTA NEET portal: neet.nta.nic.in.

  1. New Registration: Create a profile using a valid email and mobile number.

  2. Fill Application: Enter personal, educational, and contact details.

  3. Upload Documents: This includes passport and postcard photos, signature, and thumb impressions.

  4. Fee Payment: Complete the process via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.


⚠️ Critical Advisory for Students

  • One Candidate, One Form: NTA has strictly warned that candidates submitting more than one application will be disqualified without appeal.

  • Aadhaar e-KYC: Your Aadhaar details (Name, DOB, and Gender) must match your Class 10 certificate. If there is a discrepancy, update your Aadhaar immediately at a local center.

  • Live Photo Capture: A new security feature may require a live photograph to be captured during the application process—ensure you are in a well-lit area when applying.


💰 Application Fees (2026 Session)

  • General / NRI: ₹1,700

  • General-EWS / OBC-NCL: ₹1,600

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender: ₹1,000

  • Centres Outside India: ₹9,500
