Understanding the Cut-Off Trends

While official final ranks are typically consolidated after Session 2, preliminary trends suggest a highly competitive year.

  • General Category: Expected qualifying cut-off for JEE Advanced is projected between 90–93 percentile.
  • Reserved Categories: Cut-offs will vary significantly based on seat distribution and category-specific performance.
  • Scorecards: Candidates can now download their detailed scorecards from jeemain.nta.nic.in, featuring subject-wise percentiles (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and their overall NTA score.

What Happens Next?

The declaration of the Session 1 results divides the road ahead into two primary paths for students:

  1. The Road to IITs (JEE Advanced): Top-ranked candidates who meet the category-wise cut-offs are now eligible to prepare for JEE Advanced 2026, the gateway to the Indian Institutes of Technology.
  2. The Improvement Round (Session 2): Students looking to boost their scores or those who missed the cut-off can register for the April 2026 session. NTA will consider the best of the two scores for the final All India Ranking (AIR).
  3. Note to Aspirants: Your individual scorecard is a vital document for future JoSAA/CSAB counseling. Ensure all details, including category and state of eligibility, are correct.
