JEE Main 2026: NTA Confirms Session 1 Result Date; Session 2 Registration Deadline Nears

New Delhi | February 7, 2026 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially set the stage for the next phase of India’s premier engineering entrance exam. Following the successful conclusion of the Session 1 exam and the subsequent answer key challenge window, the agency has provided a definitive timeline for results and the upcoming April session.

🚀 Session 1: Results Expected by February 12

After processing over 13 lakh candidates across multiple shifts in January, NTA is currently finalizing the results based on the expert review of answer key challenges.

  • Result Date: Officially scheduled for declaration on February 12, 2026.

  • Where to Check: Candidates can download their scorecards from the official NTA portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

  • Details on Scorecard: The result will feature the NTA Percentile Score for each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and the total aggregate.

    • Note: The All India Rank (AIR) and JEE Advanced qualifying cut-offs will only be released after the conclusion of Session 2 in April.

📝 Session 2: Registration Window Closing Soon

For students looking to improve their scores or those who missed the January attempt, the registration for the April Session (Session 2) is currently live.

  • Registration Deadline: February 25, 2026 (up to 9:00 PM).

  • Fee Payment Deadline: February 25, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM).

  • Exam Dates: Scheduled between April 2 and April 9, 2026.

Pro Tip for Applicants: If you appeared for Session 1, you do not need to register as a "New Candidate." Simply log in with your existing Application Number and Password to add Session 2 and pay the examination fee.

🏛️ Admission & Counseling Outlook

With the Session 1 results around the corner, premier institutions like NITs, IIITs, and DTU are preparing for the 2026 intake.

  • Normalisation: NTA will use a multi-session normalization process based on the percentile score to ensure that students across different shifts are evaluated fairly, regardless of the difficulty level of their specific paper.
