NEW DELHI – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced crucial updates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 1, including a revised examination schedule and the release of the advance city intimation slips.
Exam Schedule Revised
The NTA has slightly compressed the examination window for the January session. The JEE Main Session 1 will now be conducted from January 21 to January 29, 2026.
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): Scheduled for January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28.
Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning): Scheduled for a single day on January 29.
This revision adjusts the previously expected timeline, and candidates are advised to check their specific dates carefully.
City Intimation Slips Released
In a move to facilitate travel planning for aspirants, the NTA released the Exam City Intimation Slip on January 8. This document informs candidates of their allotted examination city but is not the Admit Card.
How to Download: Candidates can access their slips on the official website
jeemain.nta.nic.inby logging in with their application number and date of birth.Purpose: The slip is strictly to help students make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements in advance.
Admit Card Expectations
The official Admit Cards, which will contain the specific exam center address, shift timings, and roll number, are expected to be released 2 to 3 days before the commencement of the exams.
