The NEET-PG 2025 exam was conducted on August 3, with over 242,000 candidates appearing for the computer-based test. This year's exam was notable for a number of changes and stricter guidelines aimed at increasing transparency and security, in large part due to a Supreme Court directive. The court's ruling addressed concerns over the evaluation process, including a previous lack of transparency in the release of answer keys and raw scores. In response to these concerns, the NBEMS made significant changes to the exam's administration. This included holding the exam in a single shift, a key demand from petitioners seeking fairness and an end to the "normalization" process used when exams were conducted in multiple shifts.

The exam itself was a 3.5-hour test from 9 am to 12:30 pm, with 200 multiple-choice questions for a total of 800 marks. The marking scheme was a standard four marks for a correct answer and a one-mark deduction for an incorrect answer. The syllabus covered pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical subjects from the MBBS curriculum. To ensure the integrity of the exam, the NBEMS implemented stringent security measures. Candidates were subject to thorough frisking with hand-held metal detectors, and their biometric information and photographs were captured and matched against their application data. Mobile signals were jammed at all test centers, and over 200 personnel monitored live CCTV feeds from all locations. The NBEMS also banned a wide range of personal items, including calculators, rough papers, water bottles, and even certain types of clothing and jewelry. The result is tentatively scheduled to be announced by September 3.
