NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributes around 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits today via video conferencing. The rozgar mela was held at 46 locations across the country. The PM said the government aims at opening new opportunities for women and the country's new future has begun from the new Parliament building. "A few days ago, half the country's population got a big strength in the form of 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' (Women's Reservation Bill)," he added.

“Today, Indian women are setting new records from space to sport. We are going to become the third-largest economy in the next few years," the PM said. He added that the nation has decided to become a developed country by 2047.

State, UT government supports initiative

The government has filled various vacant posts in various union government departments. State governments and union territory administrations also supported the initiative. The new recruits selected from across the country will join various ministries and departments, including department of posts, Indian audit and accounts department, department of atomic energy, department of revenue, department of higher education, ministry of defence, ministry of health and family welfare, among others. The rozgar mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development, it added. The newly inducted appointees will be trained through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online module on iGOT Karmayogi portal, where more than 680 e-learning courses have been made available for ‘anywhere any device’ learning format.
